Abdul Karim Abdullah stands as the visionary Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Culture Management Group (CMG), a trusted voice in the African cultural ecosystem. A driving force behind AfroFuture Festival, previously known as Afrochella Festival, Abdul's educational journey includes a BS in Psychology and Biology from Syracuse University and a master's in public health from CUNY Hunter College. Drawing from a rich professional history as a Project Manager at institutions such as Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Syneos Health, and Bristol Meyer Squibb, Abdul skillfully applies his executive expertise to his passion for arts and culture. This fusion led to the creation of the Afrochella Festival in 2017.
Afrochella transcended traditional festival boundaries; it stands as a dynamic platform intentionally designed to spotlight and elevate the vibrant talent emerging from Africa. Abdul's vision extends beyond cultural celebration; it is rooted in solution based action, in fostering
engagement, boosting tourism, and providing the diaspora with an authentic space to learn, & celebrate their heritage. Their 2019 edition achieved unprecedented success, contributing to a remarkable 16% increase in Ghana's tourist influx and a 3.1 surge in GDP in Q4 of 2019.
In 2022, Abdul and his partners ushered in a new era, rebranding the festival to AfroFuture Festival. This transformation preserves the festival's commitment to celebrating African Music, Food, Art, and Culture while embarking on a visionary journey into the future of the collective
Black diaspora. Abdul's current endeavors extend beyond cultural celebration; he plays a pivotal role in galvanizing interest in investing in Africa and amplifying the continent's contributions. This is evident in the impact of Abdul and AfroFuture Festival on the Ghana Tourism Sector, officially
acknowledged in 2022 through their appointment as Goodwill Ambassadors to Ghana. This recognition underscores their profound contribution to the cultural landscape and the tourism industry.
Abdul and AfroFuture Festival's trailblazing initiatives have garnered global attention, earning features on platforms such as BBC, CNN, Essence, Vogue, Forbes, and GQ. This acclaim solidifies their position as leaders in the diaspora connectivity space, showcasing Abdul's
influence as a trusted leader and advocate for Africa's cultural richness and investment potential.
